United States President Trump has just announced a ban on any transgender people from the American military service. The announcement came out VIA Trump’s favourite form of communication… Twitter. The justification of this is that “American forces could not afford the “tremendous medical costs and disruption” of transgender service members”. He is referring to the cost of gender transition and hormone therapy for transgender service members. 

The ban is an attack on inclusion and equality and I am by far not the only one who thinks this… Many people have immediately taken to social media to respond to this announcement, show support for the LGBTQ+ community, and protest the ban. This has included Bernie Sanders, Miley Cyrus, Rowan Blanchard, among many many others.
